Vexia Econav fuel efficient GPS

As well as guiding you from A to B, the Econav from Vexia can also help cut your full consumption too - saving both money and the environment.

Belkin Washable Mouse

As a general rule, computers and water don't mix very well. While it's probably best to observe this regulation whenever possible, Belkin has created a worthwhile exception with its Washable Mouse.

As they're constantly being pawed all day long, computer rodents tend to pick up all kinds of muck and they're not exactly the easiest of peripherals to clean. With Belkin's model, however, you can simply give it a rinse under the tap and you'll have it looking like new in no time at all. It's hand wash only, however, and not suitable for the dishwasher.

It comes complete with all your standard mouse features, like a scroll pad so you can quickly nip around web pages or documents and connects via USB so you shouldn't have a problem hooking it up.

The Washable Mouse is available now for £15, see Belkin for more information.

Ego Street Scoota electric scooter

Looking for an environmentally friendly way to get to work? With the Ego Street Scoota you can forget worrying about increases in petrol prices because you can fill it up just by plugging it into the mains.

It's got a top speed of 30mph, so is more suited to nipping around town rather than taking in the open highway, and its range is limited to around 40 miles. A full charge cost a mere 8p, making it work out at around 0.25p a mile, which isn't bad going at all. It'll take about eight hours to completely recharge, but you can give it a quick top up in around three hours.

You don’t need to worry about pumping out messy exhaust fumes while you're out and about and there's no road tax or congestion charge to pay either.

The Street Scoota is available now for £999.95 from Firebox.

LG Steam Direct Drive washing machine

LG's new washing machine uses steam power to freshen up your clothes in super-quick time. If you haven't got time to wait for a full wash to dry, just chuck in your garments and set it to Steam Refresh. In 20 minutes your togs will pop out crease free and smelling fresh.

It's an intelligent washer, so although it will take a full load up to 9Kg, it will weigh what's in the drum and automatically use less water and power if it's only partially loaded. It's got an A++ energy rating too, so uses 35 percent less water and 21 percent less energy than traditional A rated machines.

As it's a direct drive model it also promises fewer vibrations as there are no pulleys or belts involved so it's significantly quieter than a normal model.

The Steam Direct Drive is available now from £599, see LG for further details.
