Sony XAV-W1

Whether you can't get the kids to stop arguing or you just fancy some top of the range automotive gadgetry, the Sony XAV-W1 will make your current in car setup look the entertainment equivalent of black and white TV.

The XAV-W1 packs in a DVD and SACD (Super Audio CD) player and comes with a Sony designed 7in TFT monitor with a widescreen resolution of 800x480 pixels.

It supports surround sound in Dolby Digital and DTS format and can also handle DivX video plus WMA and MP3 audio. If that's not enough choice, then you can hook up your own MP3 player and there's a remote control included so passengers in the back can have their say over the entertainment options. There's even a karaoke function, which beats singing along to 99 Bottles of Bear on the Wall on a long journey.

Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile U9200

If you frequently need a laptop to do work on while you're travelling, the last thing you want is some hulking brute that weighs a ton and is awkward to lug around. Fujitsu Siemens' new Esprimo Mobile U9200 is ideal for such purposes as it only weighs 1.8kg and has a small 12.1in display so it won't take up too much space in your luggage.

Despite its small size, it is still feature packed - including an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, at least 1GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive and an internal dual format DVD writer.

If you also need internet access while you are out and about, then there is even an optional embedded UMTS/HSDPA card available so you can access near broadband speeds over the mobile phone network.

Digital Spectrum MF-8104 Wi-Fi photo frame

A digital picture frame will cut down on your photo printing bill, but you still need to remember to upload your latest images to it, which can be a time consuming process.

With Digital Spectrum's MF-8104 Wi-Fi photo frame, however, you can transfer your images wirelessly, so you don't need to deal with swapping cards or hooking it up to your PC to view your newest holiday snaps.

It can jump on your home wireless network and talk directly with photo sharing sites such as Flickr, Webshots and Windows Live Spaces, so it will always be up to date with any pictures you upload there. TwinMOS miniBooM

If you want a portable soundsystem to compliment your iPod while you're on the go, TwinMOS may have just the thing you're after. Its miniBooM speaker dock promises big sound despite its small size.

It weighs just 1.5Kg and can be powered from 6AA batteries, giving you over eight hours play back while you're out and about. It features two speakers and a subwoofer, for extra bass, and in addition to playing tracks from your musical pal it also has an alarm and FM Radio, with a DAB option available later in the year.

There's a remote control supplied, so you can change tracks in comfort, and it even features a calendar function so you can keep track of what you're meant to be doing.

United Pepper Lili and Oscar

Fairtrade isn't just about coffee and bananas - United Pepper is pushing ethical shopping, along with strong environmental credentials, into the computer peripherals market.

Lili and Oscar may look a little usual compared to your run of the mill webcam or USB hub, but their distinctive bodies are made from easily recyclable cotton, sand, Kapok (tree-fibre) and paperboard. All packaging is 100 percent recycled and 70 percent of each product is produced in a fairtrade environment.

Lili is a 1.3 megapixel webcam with microphone and Oscar is a four port USB 2.0 hub. Their development has been supported by Oxfam and each product begins life in Vietnam, in a workshop adhering to the fairtrade principles - which includes a safe, comfortable and hygienic workplace; fair price paid for completed work; and equality between men and women, with no child labour.

Ion Tape2PC

Clever Stuff Disgo Video

Being the next big thing on YouTube has never been more attainable thanks to Clever Stuff. Its Disgo Video camera retails for just £40, bringing your 15 minutes even closer in reach.

The pocket-sized camera shoots video at 640x480 resolution, just slightly lower than DVD quality, and records footage to SD card. There's even a 1GB card included, enough for one hour of video. It's powered by two AA batteries and has a large 2in screen to review footage on and a built in speaker.

You can hook it up directly to a TV or connect it to your PC via USB to edit the footage or upload it to video sharing sites. There's even some video editing software included in the package.

Hercules Mobile DJ Preview Edition

If you find predetermined playlists a bit too rigid to judge the party mood, but don't want to be stuck away in a corner cueing up tracks all night, then take a look at the Mobile DJ Preview Edition from Hercules.

It allows you to pick which tracks on your PC you want to play and as it's wireless you can operate it from wherever you want. You can preview songs via the cordless headphones and even cross-fade or mix tracks all on the device itself.

Gear4 BlackBox

If you've got a Bluetooth enabled device that's capable of pumping out the odd tune or two then you can team it up with Gear4's BlackBox to create a wireless soundsystem.

There's no need to mess around with wires and once you've introduced your devices to each other you just need to hit play whenever you're in range. The BlackBox features touch sensitive controls and its deep gloss finish lights up with LEDs when you play music.

Music output is rated at 24W and it's compatible with any device that supports the A2DP Bluetooth profile - most newer phones do - allowing stereo playback. If you want to listen to music from an iPod, however, you'll need to connect it to a Bluetooth adapter as it can't talk wirelessly to other devices by default.
