Musical umbrella

Brolly If you’re a big fan of Singing in the Rain, Korean design company SDESIGNUNIT has a concept product you’ll love.

Music in the Rain is a musical umbrella. Open it up and tunes instantly begin to play through the canopy. Spin the umbrella to the left or right and you’ll be able to move between tracks. And when not in use, you'll still be able to listen to music stored in your brolly – simply plug a special speaker into the handle.

It’s a nice idea, but various questions spring to mind. How do you get the music into the umbrella in the first place? Will there be a pause button? What about a volume control? And will the umbrella blast your music to the world when turned inside out by a strong gust of wind?

At the moment Music in the Rain is just at the design stage so don’t expect to have a smile on your face as you walk down the lane with a happy refrain any time soon.

I thought of venturing into the umbrella business for a while now.Since, I have been brainstorming different ideas about umbrellas. Just today I thought I had stumble across revelutionary concept of music within an umbrella. To my surprise sdesignunit has already has prototypes.Of course I think it is a unique idea with potential.Still i envisioned a slight differnt design and concept.Rightfully so this a wonderful design ...good luck.

Hi, actually I think the whole world of umbrellas is moving on. The days of the traditional conventional umbrella are over. I came across a rechargeable electrical umbrella, an umbrella with "Double Dome" wind-resilience technology and even a bike umbrella recently from a company called www.UmbrellaHeaven.com
