Miuro - the stalking MP3 speaker system

Miuro The problem with listening to music in one room is the moment you leave that room you can’t hear it properly any more. Unless you crank your stereo up to eleven of course, but then the neighbours get all wound up and call the police. You can stream tracks wirelessly to different rooms but there’s another alternative idea we quite like.

Miuro is a dock for your iPod that’s part speaker system and part stalker. You plug your player into it and the 14in wide TIE Fighter-shaped device follows you about, rolling from room to room and bringing the music to you. You can also control it with a joystick – “dance Miuro, dance!”

If you don’t have an iPod don’t worry. You can use it to stream music from any PC with iTunes on it instead.

Miuro is available in black, white, yellow and red. At the moment you can only buy the device in Japan (where it will cost you £485 for the basic unit) although it should also be released in the US sometime next year.
